Three weeks ago, these TORBED processors were being packed and loaded at a fabrication works in Poland. Now installed on site in France, they are ready for commissioning and expected handover in September. Designed to dry and calcine paper sludge, producing an ash that can be used as a cement substitute and providing energy, this plant turns a waste into useful products and reduces landfill. The plant is a pilot, designed to produce industrial quantities of the calcined ash to allow for its testing and certification for commercial use.
